To accomplish this essential objective, politicians must stop their irresponsible out of control tax, spend and borrow policies. Republicans and Democrats have caused our massive federal debt. Our annual deficit now exceeds a trillion dollars for the first time in American history.

National Security

The most fundamental and important job of the Federal Government is to protect the people. Since National Defense is a constitutional duty of the Federal Government, I would not seek to eliminate agencies necessary for our defense such as the military, border patrol, intelligence agencies, etc. I would certainly want to have these agencies audited for effectiveness and to achieve efficiencies.

The guiding principle of our Foreign Policy should be to serve our own national interests. At times, serving our national interests may involve sending our military abroad. As a military man, I can assure you that it is far better for us to fight a war overseas, than to fight that same war in our own country. When we can choose the battlefield, we should choose the battlefield that is best for our country.

Congress should be restricted to those enumerated powers granted to it in the U.S. Constitution. With that said, Congress has no authority to legislate respecting the affairs of We the People, including, but not limited to education, medical care, housing, wages, safety, etc.

Gone are the days of John Adams and Thomas Jefferson and we are left with the likes of Nancy Pelosi and Barney Frank. Whether it’s purposefully cheating on taxes, blatant refusal to read legislation, voting to benefit a big contributor, or just plain lying — we have a serious lack of moral certitude in Washington.
